Description Situated by Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, staying at the Blackthorn holiday cottage means a sumptuous private retreat in one of Scotland’s most beautiful areas. Plenty of historical landmarks, natural wonders and recreational activities including sailing, archery and horseback riding can be found in the nearby surroundings. Glasgow proper is just thirty minutes’ drive from here. The cottage is constructed of green wood so that it melds with the surrounding landscape. The bedroom contains a large king-size four-poster bed (with room for a cot) and a large mirror door wardrobe, along with a spa bath. The spacious sitting room contains a beautiful oak floor with two- and three-seater leather settees as well as a recliner chair. Out back, you’ll find a covered outdoor dining and seating area as well as a garden, where you can enjoy alfresco dining and barbeques while enjoying beautiful sunsets over Loch Lomond. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a ceramic hob, microwave, coffee pot, washing machine, fridge and freezer. For those planning a special occasion, fine bone china and crystal goblets can be supplied, along with champagne, chocolates, nibbles and fruit upon your arrival. Set within the mature grounds of a family-owned country estate, Blackthorn Cottage is the perfect place for couples either to relax in the superbly furnished cottage or to use as a base from which to explore the local countryside and beyond.
